A Week with Azar
Innovative Cinema Short, AT/SK/US/IR 2018, 11 min, OmeU
Program: Kurzdokumentarfilm Programm 2
The travel ban imposed by Donald Trump against seven Muslim nations in 2017 prevented the Iranian woman Azar, who was living in Seattle at the time, from having one last meeting with her dying sister. In a mixture of documentary, essay, poetic journal, and photo novel, which allows Azar symbolic resistance and a conceptual escape to her homeland, A Week with Azar tells of the personal effects of political decisions.
