Vienna, early 1930s. The Great Depression also claims its victims here in Austria. Hans, an unemployed chauffeur, saves Anna from drowning —in despair, in the darkest of nights, she jumped in the Danube. Through temporary jobs, the two slowly find their way back to financial independence. A clear social utopia, a fairy tale of proletarian solidarity in the modern city, in Red Vienna.
