A harmless circle of chairs becomes a sect-like community with the goal of giving up eating entirely. Miss Novak dubs the alliance Club Zero, and makes it palatable to her students as part of an elective course. In Jessica Hausner’s psychodrama revolving around a manipulative teacher, critical questions related to consumer habits, radical forms of protest, and the body cult in a society based on performance are satirically and stylistically taken to the extremes.
