“The pain, is it inside or outside?” asks Maria Lassnig before giving it expression in the next moment. Mit einem Tiger schlafen paints a picture of the artist that tells mainly of boundaries: isolation in the male artworld, the endless longing for dissolution of one’s own body. While a tiger circles, present and past connect, as do body and image. A film, which like Lassnig, does not shy away from crossing boundaries.
