The manager Beate (wonderfully inscrutable: Lilith Stangenberg) is on the road in poor regions of Albania for the multinational concern “Europa” to persuade the remaining farmers to sell their land. When they refuse to exchange their livelihoods, family histories, and traditions for money and a better future, Beate’s tone and approach change. The imperialistic methods of modern capitalism come to light in drastic clarity.
