A family of four celebrates their daughter’s birthday at their summer house. The video camera of Lothar, the mother’s partner, is always present. However, his explicit view of sixteen-year-old Vanessa first becomes obvious years later in another birthday film. In Vivian Bausch’s highly emotional miniature, the daughter, on behalf of many others, accuses her own mother of having silently accepted abusive situations.
