It is said that the sea belongs to everyone. For many Palestinian children, however, the Israeli coastal strip a few kilometers away remains a restricted area: daily life in the West Bank. The First Sea traces a special authorized day trip to the sea. With a micro­ social focus on two 13­ year ­old girls, we get a palpable sense of the contradictions and dynamics of a conflict in deadlock.
