Milchwald

Following an argument on their drive home, a mother abandons her two stepchildren close to the German-Polish border. When she goes back, the girl and boy have disappeared, which she fails to tell their father when she returns home. Whilst the children have joined up with a traveling salesman, the search for them begins. Christoph Hochhäusler’s cinema debut, staged as a modern fairytale, develops into an enigmatic road trip about the feeling of being lost and loss.
