24 hours a day is nine hours away by car: every few months, Sadina travels from Vulcan in Romania to Bad Vöslau in Austria, where she provides round-the-clock care for Elisabeth who is 86 years old and bedridden. Sadina is one of the 60,000 Romanian caregivers whose working conditions have been largely ignored by the Austrian long-term care reform. Feeding, washing, changing diapers, carrying—while Sadina tries to escape the monotony with her smartphone, the day starts all over again.
