The social welfare organization Lebenshilfe was actually supposed to move into the house where Adolf Hitler was born, but then the Austrian Ministry of the Interior turned it into a location for the federal police. This strange decision prompted Günter Schwaiger to reflect not only on Austria’s handling of its Nazi past, but also the history of his own family.
