Donau, Duna, Dunaj, Dunav, Dunarea
Feature Film, AT 2003, 89 min, OmdU
Donau, Dunaj, Duna, Dunav, Dunarea is a road movie on the water. Travelling down the Danube east to the Black Sea with a rusty ship and its captain (Otto Sander) are a son (Robert Stadlober) who is supposed to bring his mother’s coffin to the mouth of the river, a deserter, a Transylvanian musician, and a woman who is a heroin addict. Goran Rebić turns the many stories that they bring on board, which all belong to the river and are constantly in motion, into one story. The rhythm of the film swings in harmony with the river, the actual main character: the Danube.
