Mariupol is in southeastern Ukraine, near the war’s frontline. From a closeness that remains unobtrusive, Ivette Löcker traces the lives of Anja, eighteen years old, and Serjoscha, nineteen, who are in the midst of a fragile in between. Unfolding bit by bit are snapshots of a searching movement, in which shrewd humor and profound dialogue, exuberance, and fear of the future alternate.
