Philipp Fleischmann deconstructs the main exhibition hall of the Vienna Secession by means of a special recording technique. The 35mm film serves as a unit of measure where the supposed neutral architecture, symmetry and lighting of the White Cube are inscribed. The marginalized cinematic medium thus finds its way into the exhibition space and confronts its object with a “spatialized” perspective upon itself.
