Isolation as an artistic premise. A group of bathers gather along a riverbed. The sound of rushing water and the highway can be heard in the background as placid black-and-white images pan the surrounding rocky steps. In carefully selected serial shots, Josef Dabernig dedicates himself to the subject of structures: of skin, fabrics, rock formations, and nature itself. River Plate is a wonderfully idiosyncratic and timely frolic.
