Director, Script: Johann Lurf

Johann Lurf uses NASA images from two space shuttle launches – one by day and one by night. We observe the ignition, the release of the two booster rockets, right up until the water landing in the ocean. The camera shots change continuously. Lurf’s strict composition of edits dictates three cuts per second. At night the audio track remains silent. Glaring sparks cut through the dark. The technical deformation turns into an almost mystical experience.
