Pruchnik, a small village in Southeast Poland. Every year on Good Friday, tradition demands that Judas’ betrayal of Christ is commemorated here. A giant Judas is hung in effigy, dragged through the village, caned, burned and thrown into the water. As the ritual progresses, medieval anti-Judaism also completes its journey to later anti-Semitism, in additional comments. A film about Christian, Catholic, but also pagan prejudices and contradictions.
