Small gestures can change the world. Xiao Bao lives in a plain shed in Beijing with his brother and sister in-law. There is not enough money, and the relationship between them is tense. After finding out that the object of his desire is unavailable, he gives his sister-in-law a gift instead. Their routines of mutual hostilities can no longer be continued. With Beijing as a set, Yilin tells the story of three people and the way in which they quietly deal with loneliness and their existential fears.
