Philipp Fleischmann again turns his attention to a cultural building—this time, the São Paulo Biennial’s Ciccillo Matarazzo pavilion. With a series of site-specific camera-sculptures, the artist creates not so much a film about a building, but rather, a cinematic structure, which defies the common logics of cinema as representation-machine and, with disruptive images, unmasks politico-aesthetic entities.
