Maya McKechneay’s essay film tells the story of an unlucky address: hundreds of people burned to death in the Ringtheater at Vienna’s Schottenring 7, and this was only the first in a long series of tragedies that repeated schematically at this site. A cinematic search for clues that fluctuates between horror film and historical review while keeping a lookout for ghosts haunting society and its historiography.
