In his mid 30s, Gerrit Frings, childless and married to Claudia, must come to terms with the fact that that he is a failure in his career. After his company goes bankrupt and his friend commits suicide, Markus is also sued by the widow, Sandra. As he falls head over heals in love with Sandra, the lies he tells himself and also truths come to light, and give the story an unexpected twist.
