Jessica Hausner’s English sci-fi film revolves around the biologist Alice and a genetically manipulated plant that she has developed, whose scent is meant to make people happy. However, Little Joe (as the plant is called) might not work as anticipated, but instead, could be influencing human behavior in an alarming, albeit hardly noticeable way. Does Alice really want to know the truth? Or would she prefer to be happy?
