Dieter Berner’s impulsive dramatic love story is dedicated to the passionate affair that erupted between the newly widowed wife of the composer Gustav Mahler, Alma Mahler, and the enfant terrible of the Viennese art scene, Oskar Kokoschka, in the spring of 1912. What begins as a devoted relationship quickly develops into a game of power and dependence in which different ways of life collide and lead the lovers to the brink of self-destruction.
