Shortly after the end of World War II, a Jewish emigré from Austria discovers a painting in a London gallery that looks exactly like his missing daughter. Major Lawrence is assigned to find her, though that’s easier said than done. He finally locates her in a German refugee camp, only to realize that she suffers from amnesia. An early gem from director Terence Fisher, later of Hammer Horror fame.
