In the heart of the mega-city Jakarta, slums that have multi- plied for decades must now make way for colossal housing projects. This housing development poses an existential threat to the inhabitants. Two women practice resistance against the despotism of the local law enforcement. They postulate the sharing of that freedom promised to them by Indonesia’s fledgling democracy, which is still withheld from the poverty- stricken majority.
