In Gita Ferlin’s essayistic portrait of an asylum seeker, the protagonist remains invisible, existent only as a voice. The nightmarish descriptions of his life, over which he has lost authority, dictated now by fear, poverty, shame, and lack of perspective, concentrate in contemplative spatial tableaus; and in the soundtrack, to a penetrating look at a homeless existence, a subsistence between prison and transit.
