Shizuko and Toshio Orimo have improvised with sounds somewhere between jazz and punk since the early 1980s. The pair calls themselves IRO, and Heidrun Holzfeind not only listened in on them, but also stages it visually, with rhythmic cuts, modernist architecture, and archive recordings. Japan, abstract and vivid strapped together.
