A graduating class takes a school excursion to the Auschwitz and Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps: Hollywood cinema teaching history in the bus, a walk through the musealized traces of crime, debriefing in the youth hostel. For all of the concept’s simplicity, the ambivalent moments that go along with the necessary process of coming to terms with the past become glaringly apparent.
