The scandal-ridden pop star Miley Cyrus as a purported role model for confidently flaunted sexuality: Accompanied by Cyrus’ video “We Can’t Stop,” a young woman performs in her somewhat less glamorous bedroom – a little shaky on the lyrics while chewing a stick of gum. The affirmation of a staged confidence fails, indeed must fail. Once again Kurdwin Ayub proves merciless, both with herself and the filmic form.
