The renowned author Peter Bernhard wants to investigate the reasons behind the suicide of a young woman called Maria Tischler. But instead of the literary account he intended, he becomes aware of how meaningless his previous writing has been, he has no insight into any other world than his own. For him Maria’s world is a “blinde Eule” (blind owl).
