In simple black and white, Herna (casino, roughly translated from Czech) begins as a filmic miniature about the passion of games. While the player loses all sense of time and his wife sits tight in the car with their kid, a dramatic kaleidoscope made up of four voices unfolds. A radio play by Bruno Pellandini about life’s great themes is added as a counterpoint – it talks of love, death, ownership and loss.
