A movie by Urs Odermatt and Martin Lehwald From the provinces to the big city. On arriving in Vienna, the young Adolf Hitler aspires to be a painter. A lack of artistic talent and sheer bizarre coincidence divert his plans from the creative world to that of politics. Of all people, it is Schlomo Herzl, a Jew, who embraces the failed painter, and involuntarily helps give birth to the Führer. Based on the play by George Tabori, Urs Odermatt presents a grotesquely comic interplay of good and evil, where reality, dream and nightmare are increasingly blurred.
