Sebastian Bobik has a compelling experience at the cinema. Afterward, when attempting to track down Tamizo Ishida’s Hana Chirinu (1938) online and in the literature, he comes upon a blind spot in film historiography. By means of alternative images—painted, scanned, digitally simulated—he writes a letter to the director. The delivery, however, occurs once again via the screen.
