Wherever one looks, there is water. Lukas Marxt filmed for ten days on an oilrig in the North Sea. The stark sequences depict the inner workings and the outer world of this steel colossus, bearing witness to its solitary existence in the midst of a boundless expanse. Surrounded by rearing waves, the water’s vortexes lose themselves in abstract spiraling patterns. Nella Fantasia is both a document and a work of visual poetry.
