“A bunch of fools, these innkeepers!” grumbles Bösel, a crude, loudmouthed grouch to his colleague Fellner, a slick half-yuppie with half an education. The odd-couple restaurant inspectors travel from tavern to tavern across Lower Austria. In smoky pub rooms, between country roads, bribes of wine, and deep-frying fat, the two characters bare their souls, unexpectedly grow closer, and ultimately end melodramatically in the hospital. “Thanks so much.”
