The mysterious stranger is in fact Rose, who passes herself off as a man. In her pursuit of social recognition, and despite the community’s suspicion, she continues to write her own story—letting words become reality. Based on historical accounts, this fictional portrait of a woman explores fundamental questions about the nature of freedom and identity.
