The model Masha and the painter Misha meet in Minsk, Belarus—two lonely souls dreaming of another life who recognize in one another a yearning that is similar to their own. Two souls who manage to bridge their vast differences and offer one another comfort for a while. A film whose meaning revolves around the powerful metaphor of the vulnerable snail, an unlikely existence that nonetheless endures.
