“My spine is going to break any moment now,” Teresa complains to her daughter. Filmmaker Magdalena Chmielewska approaches this fictionalized version of her mother as though it were a puzzle, showing her body in all sorts of details. In doing so, she interweaves these multilayered moments with images of two girls imploring the “little heaven” to protect the mother. Fiction, hope, and suffering repeatedly reach out to one another.
