In Schlöglmühl, Lower Austria, the paper factory, one of the most important employers in the town and region, closed in 1982. A total of 269 people lost their jobs. Eight years later, Egon Humer investigated the causes and consequences of the closure and created one of the most remarkable social studies in Austrian cinema history.
