Joan of Arc / Jóhanna af Örk
Short Film, IS/DK/FR 2025, DCP, 61 min, OmeUProgram: POSITION Hlynur Pálmason: Kurzfilmprogramm
Anyone who has seen The Love That Remains will immediately recognize the Maid of Orléans in this docu-fiction. She is the life-size doll that the filmmaker’s twin sons painstakingly built and ultimately tormented with arrows as a target. And she is the one we watch here from a fixed perspective for an entire hour: during her birth, her miserable existence, and her possible end. A minimalistic spin-off, a wonderful landscape study—and additionally, the most humorous of all the Joan films.
