It all begins with the eviction of Eva and her grandfather. Then a fleeing thief forces the young woman to exchange clothes with him. And ultimately, Eva ends up in court as an overly zealous newspaper boy. Her fate first takes a turn for the better when she becomes the newspaper boy “Peter”—and the comedy of mistaken identity starring Franziska Gaál, Hans Jaray, and the wonderful character actors Felix Bressart and Otto Wallburg blossoms into a delightful screwball comedy.
