Der Page vom Dalmasse-Hotel

Feature Film, DE 1933, Film 35mm, 83 min, dOF

To escape unemployment, Friedel masquerades as a man and lands a job at a grand hotel. As a dashing young page, she encounters wealthy gentlemen and sophisticated con-artist women who are intent on their fortunes. Brilliant in the title role of this comedy about mistaken identity and true love—based on the bestseller by the Austrian author Maria Peteani—is Dolly Haas, who became an icon of androgyny and modernity in the cinema of the Weimar Republic.
