Friendly Fire
Documentary Film, AT/DE 2025, DCP, 112 min, OmdUErich Fried (1921–1988) wrote famous love poems, but the heart of his career was political discourse: he was concerned with the Holocaust, left-wing protest, pacifism, the Middle East conflict, and the Cold War. As Klaus Fried, his son, says, he didn’t have much time left for his children. Coming together in his documentary collage about his father, a stranger to him, are personal emotions, talks with family members, Fried experts and companions, as well as a wealth of archive material, and Erich Fried’s poems.
