When her mother’s progressing dementia causes her memories to fade, Jola Wieczorek, herself an expectant mother, tries to capture the remaining images of her family’s escape from Poland and their new beginning in Austria. Her film essay weaves intimate conversations, letters, and archival material into a poetic narrative, documenting the rocky road to a new home, questioning the process of remembering, and addressing the wide-ranging impacts of migration.
