Constanze Ruhm builds on her work with Italy and expands it to a vision of European female (counter-) history in the form of an echo chamber of archive and reconstruction. Contemporary young women interact with their predecessors, mainly with the art critic Carla Lonzi (1931–1982), who researched, among other things, a 17th-century, French proto-feminist avant-garde movement known as “Précieuses.” From the image of a broken mirror arise new forms of subjectivity.
