Matthias, played by Albrecht Schuch with great satirical skill, is the operator and main protagonist of the reputable escort service “My Companion.” People can book him as a model father, an exemplary son, or a sophisticated companion. He lives in a luxury villa with a pool and a wife who is blonde like him. Everything is perfect. Until the façade is challenged by the set pieces of so-called real life. In his feature film debut, Bernhard Wenger transforms difficult topics, such as loneliness and an inner void, to a precise and biting tragicomedy.
