Award Marathon!

As part of the Diagonale, Austria’s most highliy endowed film awards were presented by international jurys at the 2026 edition, thereby honouring the many achievements associated with the production of a film. The Franz Grabner Prize, the Carl Mayer Screenplay Awards, the Thomas Pluch Screenplay Awards and the Kodak Analog Award were also traditionally awarded during the Festival of Austrian Film as well as the Kleine Zeitung Diagonale Audience Award. This year, the Mabacher Award was presented for the first time as part of the Diagonale.
