Jury statement: It’s hard not to feel a pang of muffle at this high wire walk through the life of Maria Lassnig, whom Birgit Minichmayr embodies in a breathtaking and congenial way, without a safety net and completely without a mask, from childhood to old age, she draws, like the artist herself, painfully under the skin and with the highest intensity, traces on the white canvas, which basically represent our common fate.<\/p>\n
