The Diagonale is pleased to announce two special programs that can be seen in March at the Festival of Austrian Film. The first historical special is titled FINALE<\/u> and comprises five programs that have been selected together with the Filmarchiv Austria and the Austrian Film Museum as well as in cooperation with the ORF Archive. SYNEMA \u2013 Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Film und Medien and Diagonale dedicate the second historical special to the filmmaker, critic, and author Bernhard Frankfurter (1946\u20131999).<\/p>\n
Aktion! Action!<\/u> was curated by SYNEMA \u2013 Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Film und Medien.\u00a0With the support of Graz 2003, European Capital of Culture, SYNEMA was able to save the estate of Bernhard Frankfurter and successively preserve and process it. In 2023 \u2013 thus exactly twenty years later \u2013, SYNEMA, together with the Diagonale and participation of the ORF Archive, is now showing a multipart film program in honor of the author and filmmaker who was born in 1946 in Graz and died in 1999.<\/p>\n
The historical specials FINALE<\/u><\/a> and Aktion! Action!<\/u> can be seen from March 22 to 26 at the Diagonale\u201923 in Graz and offer a rare opportunity to view works, some of which have been specially digitized and restored, from the national film archives away from the capital.<\/p>\n
