In Maria Luz Olivares Capelle’s experimental essay, the “waste material” arising during camera tests develops into an independent artwork: uncontrolled patches of color overgrowing the black-and-white film, chemically disfigured positive and negative images, as well as benign digital animations unveil a psychedelic color intoxication with virulent pull.
