Roman Kogler is serving time in a juvenile detention center, and is hoping for an early release. Quietly, he makes his way through the daily rounds, almost as if through a strange world. Once on parole he finds a job at the city morgue, and gets his first glimpse of human contact. Gradually, the morbid routine of his job offers moments of comfort. Carried by its screenplay, camera and ensemble cast, we witness a story of the downfall and resurgence, a breath held and a breath released.
